# Log in to an account with a passkey

This article describes how to log in to an account with a saved passkey using the Cerby browser extension.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Who can use this feature?**

* Account **Owners** and **Collaborators**
* Supported using the **Cerby browser extension**
 {% endhint %}

As an account **Owner** or **Collaborator**, you can log in to an account with a passkey saved in Cerby, directly from the Cerby browser extension. For instructions on adding a passkey, read the article [Add a passkey to an account](/cerby-browser-extension/accounts/passkeys/add-a-passkey-to-an-account.md).

## Log in to an account with a passkey

To log in to an account with a passkey, you must complete the following steps:

1. Log in to your workspace in the Cerby browser extension. For instructions, read the article [Log in to the Cerby browser extension](/cerby-browser-extension/installation/log-in-to-the-cerby-browser-extension.md).
2. Navigate to the app's login page.
3. Select the app's own option to log in with a passkey.

When you have at least one passkey-enrolled account for that app, the Log in with Passkeys dialog box is displayed automatically.

4. Select the account you want to log in with. Your device's biometric or security-key verification is activated.
5. Complete the verification as directed by your browser. Cerby displays a **Login successful** message, and you're logged in to the account.

{% hint style="info" %}
**NOTE:** If the **Log in with Passkeys** dialog box is displayed and you want to use your operating system's native passkey option instead, click the QR code icon to dismiss the dialog box and continue with your browser's own passkey prompt.
{% endhint %}

Now you are done.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.cerby.com/cerby-browser-extension/accounts/passkeys/log-in-to-an-account-with-a-passkey.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
