Respond to a trusted device request

This article describes how to respond to a trusted device request in the Cerby mobile app.

Who can use this feature?

  • Workspace Owners, Super Admins, Admins, Users, Login-Only, and Guest Users

  • Only supported using the Cerby mobile app

When a new device attempts to join your workspace and your workspace requires existing-device approval, Cerby sends a trusted device request to your Notification Center. You must approve or deny the request within five minutes, or it expires.

To respond to a trusted device request, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Cerby mobile app on your mobile phone.

  2. Log in to your Cerby workspace.

  3. Tap the bell icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. The Notification Center is displayed.

  4. Locate the trusted device request.

  5. Tap the notification to expand it. The device name, platform, request time, and time remaining to respond are displayed.

  6. Tap Approve if you recognize the device, or Deny if you do not. The device is added to or rejected from your trusted device list, and the notification is marked as handled.

NOTE: If the action buttons are no longer active, the request has expired. To restart the device enrollment, initiate the login from the new device again.
