Regenerate an RSA key for an account

This article describes how to regenerate an RSA key for an account in your Cerby workspace.

Who can use this feature?

  • Workspace Owners, Super Admins, Admins, Users, and Guest Users

  • Account Owners

  • Only supported using the Cerby web app

As an account Owner who has already generated an RSA key for your account with Cerby, you can regenerate the key. You may need to do this if the current key is compromised or if a system that depends on the key requires a new one.

To regenerate an RSA key for an account, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Cerby workspace.

  2. Click the corresponding account card. The account details page is displayed.

  3. Expand the RSA key settings section, further down the page.

  4. Click the Regenerate key button. The Regenerate RSA key dialog box is displayed.

  5. Enter a passphrase in the Passphrase field.

  6. Click the Regenerate key button. Cerby generates an RSA keypair, and the RSA key generated dialog box is displayed with the following values:

    • Public key (PEM)

    • Private key (encrypted PEM)

    • Passphrase

  7. Copy each value and store it in a secure location.

  8. Click the Done button. The dialog box closes.

Now you are done.
