# Remove a secret from a collection

{% hint style="info" %}
**Who can use this feature?**

* Workspace **Owners**, **Super Admins**, **Admins**, **Users**, and **Guest Users**
* Collection **Owners**
* Only supported using the Cerby web app
  {% endhint %}

As a collection **Owner**, you can remove a secret from a collection. With this action, all workspace members and teams who have shared access to the collection automatically lose access to the secret through the collection.

To remove a secret from a collection, you must complete the following steps using the Cerby web app:

1. Log in to your [Cerby](https://app.cerby.com/) workspace.
2. Select the **Collections** option from the left menu. The **Collections** page is displayed.
3. Click the **Settings** icon of the corresponding collection card. The collection details page is displayed with the **General** tab activated.
4. Activate the **Secrets** tab.
5. Click the **Manage secrets** button. The **Add secrets to collection** dialog box is displayed.
6. Click the **Remove** icon of the secret you want to remove from your collection. The secret is removed from the list in the **Selected secrets** section. **TIP:** You can use the search bar to look for specific secrets in the **Selected secrets** section.
7. Repeat step 6 as necessary to remove multiple secrets.
8. Click the **Done** button. The dialog box closes, a success message is displayed, and the selected secrets are removed from the **Secrets** tab.

Now you are done.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.cerby.com/cerby-web-app/collections/managing-your-collections/remove-a-secret-from-a-collection.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
