## Add a WiFi item manually

To add a secret manually and, optionally, a file attachment, you must complete the following steps using the Cerby web app:

1. Log in to your corresponding [Cerby](https://app.cerby.com/) workspace.
2. Select the **Secrets** option from the left navigation drawer. The **Secrets** view is displayed.
3. Click the **Add secret** button. A drop-down list is displayed.
4. Select the **WiFi** option from the list. The **Add WiFi** dialog box is displayed.
5. Enter the information in the corresponding fields:
   * **WiFi label in Cerby:** It is the name of the WiFi item that is always displayed on the secret card.
   * **SSID:** It is the unique identifier (service set identifier) assigned to the wireless network, commonly known as the WiFi network name.
   * **Password:** It is the authentication key (alphanumeric or passphrase code) required to access the WiFi network.
   * **Connection type:** It is the supported connection type, such as WEP, WPA, or WPA2.
   * **Connection mode:** It is the operational mode of the WiFi network, such as infrastructure mode or ad-hoc mode.
   * **Authentication:** It is the method to verify the identity of a device attempting to connect to the WiFi network, such as WPA-PSK or WPA2-Enterprise.
   * **Encryption:** It is the method to secure data transmitted over the WiFi network, such as WEP, TKIP, or AES.
   * **Use 802.1x:** It indicates whether the WiFi network uses the IEEE 802.1x standard for network access control.
   * **FIPS mode:** It indicates whether FIPS mode is enabled or not to ensure compliance with specific cryptographic standards.
   * **Key type:** It is the type of encryption key used, such as ASCII or hexadecimal.
   * **Protected:** It indicates whether the WiFi network is protected with security measures, such as a password or encryption.
   * **Key index:** It is the specific index or number associated with a WEP key in networks using WEP encryption.
   * **Notes:** It is a space for additional information or personalized notes related to the WiFi network.
6. Add an attachment optionally by performing the following actions:
   1. Click the **Add attachment** button. A file dialog box is displayed.
   2. Select the file you want to add as an attachment to the secret. For more information on the size limits and supported file formats, read the [Specifications](https://help.cerby.com/getting-started/concepts/credential-management/secrets#h-4d6ff4fb5e) section.
   3. Click the **Open** button. The file dialog box closes, and the file is displayed on the **Attachments** section.
   4. Repeat steps a to c as necessary.
7. Select a vault where you want to save the secret from the **Vault** drop-down list.

**NOTE:** If you only have one vault, the **Vault** drop-down list is not displayed.

8. Click the **Add Secret** button. The dialog box closes, and the secret details page is displayed.

Now you are done. You can start managing access to your WiFi items securely.
