Add a software license item manually

To add an SSH key item and, optionally, a file attachment, you must complete the following steps using the Cerby web app:

  1. Log in to your corresponding Cerby workspace.

  2. Select the Secrets option from the left navigation drawer. The Secrets view is displayed.

  3. Click the Add secret button. A drop-down list is displayed.

  4. Select the Software license option from the list. The Add software license dialog box is displayed.

  5. Enter the information in the corresponding fields:

    • Software license label in Cerby: It is the name of the software license item that is always displayed on the secret card.

    • License key: It is the alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies and authenticates the software license.

    • Licensee: It is the name of the person or organization to whom the software license is granted.

    • Version: It is the specific version or release of the software associated with the license.

    • Publisher: It is the name of the company or entity that developed and published the software.

    • Support email: It is the contact email address for customer support related to the software license.

    • Website: It is the official web address of the software publisher or the product's official site.

    • Price: It is the cost or value associated with the software license.

    • Purchase date: It is the date when the software license was acquired or purchased to track validity and renewal timelines.

    • Order number: It is the unique identifier assigned to the purchase transaction.

    • Number of licenses: It is the number of licenses purchased under a single transaction.

    • Order total: It is the total cost of the software license transaction, incorporating the price per license and any additional fees.

    • Notes: It is a space for additional information or personalized notes related to the database.

  6. Add an attachment optionally by performing the following actions:

    1. Click the Add attachment button. A file dialog box is displayed.

    2. Select the file you want to add as an attachment to the secret. For more information on the size limits and supported file formats, read the Specifications section.

    3. Click the Open button. The file dialog box closes, and the file is displayed on the Attachments section.

    4. Repeat steps a to c as necessary.

  7. Select a vault where you want to save the secret from the Vault drop-down list.

NOTE: If you only have one vault, the Vault drop-down list is not displayed.

  8. Click the Add Secret button. The dialog box closes, and the secret details page is displayed.

Now you are done. You can start sharing your software license items securely.
